"One of the country's most experienced and talented Comperes"

Magicseen Magazine Issue 21

That was how leading Magic Magazine "Magicseen" described me in an interview they did about using a Magician to Compere at events. Of course many of the events I host don't involve any magic at all, but whether you're looking for serious or light-hearted, formal or relaxed, my skills at being the 'front man' at any event are very flexible

I've been hosting the Durham Scout County Awards for more years than I care to remember now. It's a fantastic day where young people are given the praise and recognition they deserve with their family, friends and leaders looking on. The event is streamed live all over the world and is a big highlight in the Scouting calendar as well as my own.

This video is from 2017 when I was asked to open the proceedings with a bit of mind bending magic with the audience. Many would say reading the mind of a Durham Scout was a dangerous feat, but it was a challenge I was happy to take on as you will see...

One of my proudest nights of Event Hosting was when I was asked by Northumbria Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust, to be the host and compere for their annual Shining Stars awards night. This glittering ceremony is sponsored by many local and national companies and is held in one of the largest function suites in the North East at Newcastle Civic Centres Banquetting suite.

With my wife as both a Nurse and Staff Governor in the trust is was lovely to be able to share the night together and hear some of the amazing stories of staff who have gone above and way beyond for the patients they look after.

Ever since 2009, I have been the Charity Village Presenter for the Great Manchester Run. It's an enormously humbling day where, through interviewing all the official charities involved, I get to hear some jaw droppingly inspirational stories from people who are either running the race, working for the charities, or supporting friends and family on the day. I also get the honour of presenting for the official medal ceremony and this video is a clip of me announcing the legendary Sir Mo Farah up to the number one podium to receive his Gold Medal
